So my time here in beautiful Jackson Hole is coming to a close. Ashleigh and I will be leaving right after church on Sunday to go down to Salt Lake where we will spend a few days before I fly out on Tuesday.
So things have been a little busy these past few weeks. Soon after the Antelope Hunt, the 25th I believe, I went into Elk camp for like a week and a half. That was lots of fun. I spent most of the time as the babysitter for Stuart because it's kinda hard to take a seven year old when you leave camp at five in the morning. So I spent most of my days in camp lying around playing with Stuart. He discovered that I am a fun person to wrestle with and has ceased ever since. I'll be sitting on the couch and he will just come attack me. In addition I would help with cooking and staking out the horses and fetching water from the creek. One day Ashleigh and I decided to go for a ride to see if we could go find Spike Camp(a hunting camp owned by Ashleighs boss). We stumble upon a trail and decide to go right. We stumble upon a four point bull elk and Ashleigh does not have her gun. Later we decided that she should of had it anyways because we were in bear country. Well we keep going and we still can't find Spike camp so we decide to just go back to camp before it gets dark. We think that i might be easier to follow the trail we found to see if it's easier than the way we came. We came around a corner and I was like "Ashleigh there's a corral! I think it's Spike camp." Sure enough we go down there and tie up Texas and the Brute and find Barry. We talked to him for a bit and he fed us and told us if we came back the next day he would have cake for us. We got back to elk camp just in time to miss both the dark and the rain. And it also rained all the next day so we didn't get any cake.
We came out on the fifth and immediately had to start preparing for the Good Morning America people that were coming over on Thursday and Jim's mission farewell which was the next Sunday. You can find the clip of the Allans on the ABCNews website under Wyoming for the 50 States 50 Issues thing. And just so you know that clip of the reporter outside has Ashleigh's horse sugar in the background and had to be done like seventeen times because he had a hair sticking up. We spent lots of time cleaning and baking that week. Ashleigh and I ended up baking for than four hundred cookies for the farewell. Not as many people were able to make it up to the house as planned though because of the snow from Thursday, but there was still a good turn out. Collin was there and that was fun. As he was leaving I went up to him and asked, "so you're going to leave without saying goodbye to me?" We claimed that he did but I could stand for it because I hadn't received a hug. I said, "how are we going to further our relationship if he doesn't even hug me." I think he's warmed up to me and isn't as embrassed as he was at first.
So the family went down and took Jim into the MTC and Wednesday the 15th. I stayed up here so I could feed the animals and they were going down for less than a day in a cramped truck cab. Since then I've just been trying to spend time with Ashleigh. This week was demo week at the center for the arts so we went to a bunch of dance classes this week. We are going out tonight for dinner and a movie for our last night in town together. And yes, we are going to see High School Musical 3. I'm expecting to to be a fabulous film.
Well next time I write on here I'll most likely be back in Texas so have fun until then.
