Cantelope Hunting

So quick update.

Ashleigh has wanted me to go hunting for quite some time so she finally got me to go Antelope hunting with her, Clark, Stuart, Jim, Colby and some other relatives. It was so much fun. Friday night we drove to Farson and spent the night. Clark and Stu slept in the truck while us big kids were in the tent. Ashleigh and I were sitting in the tent while the rest of the group were talking outside. They were talking to her 22 year-old cousin about school. He was saying that he we should only have to more years left at BYU but he probably wouldn't get done by then. Clark was saying that was probably a good thing considering he wasn't married and suggested that maybe he go to BYUI-Do to find a wife. So I decided to chime in and said "I'm single." Apparently that was funny because everyone busted out laughing, and according to Jim, Collin's face turned as red as his hair.

We started hunting saturday morning. Well I didn't hunt because I don't have a hunting lisence but I still had fun going along. Colby shot her doe pretty quick and I learned that the gutting process isn't that gross. A couple hours later Jim nipped his buck and he had to track it for a while to finish it off. Another couple hours later we were riding along and I was like "CANTELOPE!!!" so we pull up and it's a buck and Clark says that it's not quite big enough. But then the buck just stood there begging to be shot so that's what clark did. He shot him once and then he turned around, shot him twice and was about to shot him a third time when he literally keeled over backwards. It was one of the funniest things I've seen. Later we were looking for a doe for Ashleigh and while we were off roading we hit a ditch and I did a faceplant into the back of the seat in front of me that was funny too.

So to sum it up, What I Learned While Antelope Hunting:
Antelope hunting is the most redneck sport ever. You ride around in your truck till you see an antelope then you jump out and shot it. If you do it correctly you use the door for an armrest while you shoot. Clark exicuted this perfectly when he shot his buck.

A little more to report than I first suspected

So basiclly I'm bored and decided that I wanted to start a blog. I mean I'm twenty so that should mean I lead an exciting life, right? Well that's not exactly true most of the time.

Recently my life has consisted of me working in Jackson, WY for the summer. I am still working at that lovely campground but I'm not sure for how long. For all I know today maybe my last day. I'll just have to talk to Dyan about that. And I guess my summer hasn't been that boring. I have spent a considerable amount of time going white water rafting and horseback riding. I have recently discovered how much I love riding bareback, and I learned earlier this summer that getting bucked off isn't that bad. Too bad I'm not the horsewhisperer or else I wouldn't have ever gotten bucked off(Sorry if you don't get that, it's an inside joke).

So I guess I should discuss more recent happenings. Let's see. Ashleigh abandoned me to go deer hunting up Little Granite. I think she should be back tomorrrow or the next day, and hopefully with a deer because she couldn't find her tag and was hoping that Clark grabbed it. But when everyone does get back we will start preparing for the antelope hunt. And if things work out I just might be able to shoot one myself.

Let me think if I can think of anything more worth reporting. On Saturday I went and visited Brooke down at Granite. We ended up going on a four mile walk to Granite falls. I took some pictures that I could put up but my camera is int the car and thats all the way upstairs so maybe I'll get them up later. It was totally weird though because these two guys and a girl slowed down when they were passing us and took a picture. I swear some people are just way more messed up in the head than others.

And I guess one last thing before I first this up, I am very impatient for the mail to get here on Thursday. It has been utter agony for me since last Thursday just waiting for a whole week. Time has been passing so slowly for me since then and I still have two more days to wait. Alright, so for those of you who are wondering what in the world I am talking about, I finally went ahead and got my patriarchal blessing. Ashleigh accompanied me to Patriarch Wilde's home on Thursday. He said he would send it to his typist the next day and I would get it in about a week. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and it will be in today's mail, but the only problem is that i have to go all the way into town to check the mail so I'm hoping that maybe Kristen will check the mail while she is in town today. But this has just been an aweful week waiting because I don't remember everthing that was said in it and there was at least one point where I was like, wait a second, could you repeat that please? And I also can't wait to be able to read and see things that I might have missed, and just reread things for a clearer understanding. Well for whatever reason I really despise having to wait, but that doesn't change anything so I will just have to deal with waiting.

Well I guess that's all for now. Stay tune next week for more exciting, or not so exciting, news from my life.
